Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

We understand that the TEAS test is required for your acceptance into your program of study. 

Space is limited for testing and therefore it is important for you to understand that by scheduling an appointment, you are making a commitment to be ready to take the test.  

That includes:

• Paying for your exam BEFORE the deadline, not just by the deadline 
• Following the instructions in your confirmation email 
• Cancelling your appointment if it is no longer needed rather than just not showing up

Each TEAS test costs $65 and the fee should be paid when you schedule your appointment. Your appointment can not be confirmed if payment has not been received. The deadline to register and pay for the exam is 48 hours prior to the scheduled test time. Please do not contact the Testing Center to confirm your appointment if you have not paid the exam fee.

To pay your exam fee, go to the Cashier’s Window (2nd floor of the Allman Center), or call (336)734-7210 to pay by phone.

You must present your photo ID (driver’s License or student ID) to take the exam.  Individuals who arrive without photo ID will not be permitted to test.

You will be allowed three attempts to take TEAS at Forsyth Tech. After the second attempt, you must wait eight weeks to reschedule your third attempt. If you have not met the minimum score or just want to increase your score, you are encouraged to enroll in an ACA 085 online course or remediate on your own. After the third attempt, you must wait one year from your last test to be eligible to resume the TEAS testing process at Forsyth Tech.  Scores are valid for two years from the date you took the test.

TEAS is a 209-minute exam divided into 4 different subjects:

·         Reading - 45 Questions (55 minutes)

·         Mathematics - 38 Questions (57 minutes)

·         Science - 50 Questions (60 minutes)

·         English & Language Usage - 37 Questions (37 minutes)
